Lineage Graphs
Lineage graphs show how governance evidence relates over time. They help auditors and reviewers understand which declarations, reviews, policy records, and credentials support a decision.
When Users See Lineage
Section titled “When Users See Lineage”Users normally inspect lineage from Governance Studio. The Lineage Graphs view appears when lineage is enabled for the deployment and the project has lineage records to display.
What a Lineage Graph Helps Answer
Section titled “What a Lineage Graph Helps Answer”- Which evidence contributed to a governance record?
- Which declarations and reviews are related to a certificate?
- What changed before or after a credential was issued?
- Is there enough context to understand the evidence path?
Good Practices
Section titled “Good Practices”- Review lineage before issuing or relying on a certificate.
- Confirm that the graph matches the expected project and policy context.
- Treat missing lineage as a signal to check feature enablement, permissions, or service health.
- Use lineage as supporting context, not as a replacement for reviewer judgment.
